Elite Searcher
Your first sight of the new Sterling will almost certainly have you standing back in amazement at the stunning grey-coloured sides, cool graphics and modern design. Only the Swift Group could have built the Elite, because only Swift has the resources. With its Scandinavian-style light woodwork and modern fabrics, and striking new body shape it is the most contemporary British caravan on the market.
Exceptional security comes in the form of a new Phantom 'ProActive' satellite monitoring system, AL-KO Secure wheel lock and an intruder alarm, which together qualify this exceptional range for a 50 per cent reduction on insurance premiums.
We've picked the four-berth Searcher twin axle because it showcases all the new features
– a luxurious end wash room with walk-in shower and separate drying area, Alde central heating with radiators and luxurious fixed bed – that make this a wonderful upmarket caravan for couples.

Corona Club 362
The compact corner of the caravan market has been disregarded by some manufacturers, which puts the Corona Club 362 at an advantage. It has an excellent specification which belies its compact dimensions, meaning that couples who don't want to tow a very large caravan or drive a large car don't have to skimp on the frills when touring. Compass has extensively reworked the Corona range this year. Outside, stylish metal trim, new front and rear panels and new decals make it look very sharp, while inside, the new Corona trim and cabinet work really lift it. This compact end-kitchen layout may not be as popular as it once was, but the Corona Club proves that it still has a lot to offer.

Pastiche 470/2
Looking at the layout diagram of the Coachman Pastiche 470/2, you may think it's quite a compact caravan but in the flesh, it's larger and better than you might expect. The secret is the combination of an enormous
L-shaped kitchen and a huge rear washroom which means this is a two-berth caravan with few compromises. For 2008, a standard microwave, thicker sidewalls, a unique layout combined with the excellent build quality that characterises Coachman caravans makes the Pastiche 470/2 a really alluring prospect. It's heavy and it's certainly not cheap but we can forgive all of that as it is very good indeed.

| LUNAR |

Stellar
The second of the compact Lunars to be rewarded in this year's awards, the Stellar has an interesting layout that really works as
a spacious caravan for two. Ostensibly, it's a two-berth end-kitchen layout, but by building the caravan 2.29 metres wide and wrapping the kitchen along the offside wall, the Stellar ends up with a huge kitchen that touring chefs will love. The compact corner washroom is a bit limiting, but the excellent front lounge is both a wonderful place to sit and a spacious bedroom. For a compact tourer which doesn't skimp on interior space, this fits the bill.

Charisma 620
Last year's Tourer of the Year remains a class act when it comes to finding a great van for caravan couples. It was the original attempt at building
a nearside fixed-bed caravan with a rear washroom and we don't think that it has been bettered at this price. It's quite
a large caravan for two people
to handle, but the generous lounge, large bed and capacious washroom make it a splendid place for two people to spend some time.
The fact it feels like a more expensive caravan than it actually is, is enough to make us conclude that it is one of the most impressive caravans in its class.
