Clubman ES
If we gave an award for the most improved manufacturer Lunar would scoop that with ease. So impressive has been
the Preston-manufacturer's rejuvenation that it has stormed into the Awards with two Quasars, a Stellar and an Ariva in this year's winner's role call. However, it's
one of the firm's classic names
that has been given our top honour for its stunning rebirth
as a modern tourer.
The remarkable changes to the Lunar Clubman range drew unilateral praise from our team of judges for its design, style and specification. Of the three models in the range it's the end-washroom four-berth ES that we chose as our favourite as it offers a lovely living space with great luxury touches.
All the Clubmans have benefited from a rethink with new GRP front and rear end panels, and rear light clusters featuring the latest LED lights. In fact nothing has been left untouched with great new interiors featuring contemporary upholstery, curtains and carpets, upgraded specification including ATC stability control, AL-KO wheel locks and an alarm and stabiliser as standard.
There's plenty of showroom appeal too with new marble-effect work surfaces, the latest Dometic fridge with a stylish black front, new curved furniture doors with new push button handles, top-quality branded microwaves with wooden surrounds and cutting edge sound system with DVD, CD and radio. Increased headroom and design details such as the roller door to the vanity unit's cupboard and the washroom's sliding door all contribute to a feeling of increased space.
The Lunar Delta ES is a complete package that impressed our judges with its value for money and sheer quality. What the judges liked most though was that Lunar had thought about the Clubman from a caravanner's point of view and produced a very practical, as well as very attractive, product.
The Lunar Clubman ES is indeed the best of the best and we salute it as Tourer of the Year.
