I have a 2005 Sterling Europa 540. When I turn my water system on, it blows the electrics. I have been told it must be the element. Do you think this is the problem? The hot water system is an Truma Ultrastore Rapid with a ten-litre tank. Where can I get a new element and do they come in different sizes? Is is a DIY job?

A new element for your Ultraheat is available from any good caravan dealer. Fitting the element is not especially tricky, but I'd suggest you have the work carried out by your local workshop.

It could be damaged wiring to the unit that's causing a direct short. Without the proper diagnostic kit, you may end up replacing the element unneccesarily. Unless you are comfortable with a multi-meter, I'd leave it to the experts.
