We have yet to feature a Rolls-Royce in our towcar tests, but we’re sure all that torque would make its models ideal for hitching to just about anything. If you’re currently saving up for one and have some time to kill in the meantime though, Rolls-Royce has released a couple of free iPhone/iPad apps to tide you over.

Rolls-Royce Ghost and Rolls-Royce Phantom over the same take on two models of car. Fire up the app and, in addition to browsing a selection of luscious images and stylish videos, you can also customise your chosen model by picking a paint job (with the option to match a colour from something you snap with the camera) and specifying the interior finish right down to the carpet.

All changes appear as soon as they’re made on a slick image of your chosen Roller, with a slideshow of interior shots and a 3D exterior that can be rotated and zoomed with the usual iPhone gestures.

Unfortunately, Rolls Royce has missed a trick by not including the option to price up your chosen specification, but then again, maybe it hasn’t — we suspect this is a case of “If you have to ask…”.

There is, however, the option to share your specification with other people via email and Facebook though, or you can just use the app to find your nearest dealer though, and presumably take in your iPhone, point at the picture and say “ I want that one.”
