The best ideas are always the simplest and here’s one that’s perfect for anyone who buys dried grains, rice, nuts, dried beans and other dried produce in bulk, and who struggles with storage — particularly in the ‘van kitchen area.

Melinda K from the Cut Out and Keep craft site has come up with a way to use the sawn-off the top of a screw-top plastic vitamin bottle as a handy seal for produce stored in a plastic bag.

The lids are airtight, pop open (so there’s nothing to misplace) and double up as a pouring aid — and this is a great way to recycle both supermarket fruit-and-veg bags and vitamin bottles.

There’s not much else to it than this, but you can see a more detailed explanation over at the site.
