THE PEUGEOT 2008 will cost from £12,995 when it arrives in showrooms in July.

Buyers will have a choice of five engines. An 82hp 1.2 VTi petrol engine starts the range, and a 120hp 1.6 VTi is the other petrol option. The diesel engines are a 70hp 1.4 HDi, and two 1.6 HDi engines with 92hp or 115hp.

Four specification levels will be available: Access +, Active, Allure and Feline. Even the most basic cars have air conditioning, electric front windows, cruise control, six airbags and stability control. Top-spec models have sat-nav, a panoramic sunroof and leather trim.

We’ll be driving the car in June, so expect weights, towing limits and our first impressions then.
