Although this site is only in its third year of operation, it already has the feel of a more mature park. The quiet woodland setting helps make it an oasis of calm.
The site is on a significant slope, yet each pitch, and the roadways, are totally level, with a generous space allowed between pitches. Andrew Reynolds, the site owner, and his brother, spent several months working on the site layout. Their efforts - and the magnificent results - are to be applauded.
Of the 103 pitches on offer, 13 are fully serviced, with more planned, and all are on hardstanding. The two toilet buildings are spacious and well kept.
Radiating from the site are several woodland walks, with one leading to a large garden centre and restaurant. There is an adequate children's play area that is away from the pitches but well within view. The grounds are dotted with picnic tables. Nearby are several interesting tourist attractions, including Matlock Bath and its cable-car ride, which rises to the Heights of Abraham Caverns. From the top station, views across the Derwent Valley
are unequalled. The locals call the area ‘Little Switzerland', with some justification.
