Getting there Allow plenty of time for your journey to the Broads. While the roads to Norwich are fairly quick, after that they become slow and winding as they navigate around the region's many rivers and the Broads themselves.
Rainy days When the heavens open, treat yourself to an afternoon at the cinema. In Norwich, catch the latest releases at the UCI at the Wherry Road Riverside Development (tel 0871 2244007) and the Hollywood Cinema on Anglia Square (tel 01603 621903). Norwich Cinema City (tel 01603 622 047) specialises in arthouse repertory. If you're in Great Yarmouth, head for the Hollywood Cinema on Marine Parade (tel 01493 852600). Another good rainy-day family activity is swimming. Take the kids to Norwich's Riverside Swimming Centre on Wherry Road (tel 01603 625166), the Marine Leisure Centre in Great Yarmouth (tel 01493 851521), or the Victory Swim & Fitness Centre (tel 01692 409370) in the small town of North Walsham.
