Past glories, present thrills
Lincolnshire’s coast has long been a favoured destination for
caravanners, who are spoilt
for choice with the multitude of sites, large and small, scattered along the 40 miles of coastline between Cleethorpes and Skegness.
The vast stretches of golden sand are popular with beach lovers, and the climate is as warm as the south of England for much of the year. On the one hand there are the traditional seaside activities and lively nightlife of the ‘Fun Coast’ – Ingoldmells and Skegness, but there are also desolate sand dunes rich in wildlife, and pretty little resorts such as Mablethorpe.
Inland, Lincolnshire offers an variety of landscape, from the flatlands of Holland to the ancient wooded slopes of Kesteven. There are many pretty towns and villages to visit, not to mention the magnificent city of Lincoln with a fascinating heritage dating back to the Roman invasion.
