Norfolk
A holiday to the North Norfolk coast is guaranteed to make you feel like you're getting away from it all. This beautiful part of England, which is often described as 'the Bulging Rump' has an isolated feel that makes you feel as if you've travelled far from the madding crowd. Maybe it's the small, traditional villages or perhaps it's the ever-changing coastline that is by turns wide, sandy and welcoming, or savage and dramatic. Or it could even be the total absence of motorways. But the overall effect is truly captivating, and it will come as no surprise that most of the area has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
If you're already a fan of this region you're in good company. The Romans marched their way up from the south along what is now known as the Peddars Way to reach the coast and the shortest sailing route to Germany's Rhine. There are stately homes and country piles galore here, too. Most famous is Sandringham, where the Queen beats a hasty retreat for a bit of peace when court life in London gets too much.

FAMILY CHOICE
This is also an area rich in wildlife; birdlife in particular. The coastline is dotted with RSPB hides, and is alive with twitching activity. Elsewhere along the coastline, the resorts of Hunstanton, Cromer and Sheringham pull in other migrant visitors – families from all over the country looking for a bit of traditional British seaside fun.
Whether your idea of a great holiday involves unearthing cultural heritage, indulging in end-of-the-pier entertainment,
or relaxing among unspoilt natural surroundings, this guide will give you all you need to enjoy caravanning in one of the UK's loveliest coastal regions.
