Potteries, rollercoasters, stately homes and stunning landscapes, Staffordshire has a vast amount to offer
Staffordshire doesn’t instantly spring to mind as an A-list holiday destination. But it should: it has a great deal to offer.
It has the biggest concentration of manufacturers of quality pottery and ceramic in the world, and the resulting factory shops, pottery
visitor centres and ceramic museums.
Aside from all things ceramic, there are museums, country houses and formal gardens to visit, and the landscape is stunning; rolling fields dotted with attractive villages, bleak moorland with rocky outcrops,
market towns, and isolated farms.
The kids won’t be disappointed either. Alton Towers and Drayton Manor Park, two of the UK’s greatest tourist magnets, are here.
Throw in its variety of good quality campsites, and it becomes more obvious that Staffordshire offers
a fine Great Escape for caravanners of all ages and tastes.
