The luxurious Lunar Delta twin-axle range for 2011 is ready for the road.

In terms of layouts, Delta remains with two floorplans. The RS fixed-bed rear washroom has been improved while the TI model has switched from a longitudinal to a transverse island bed with a rear washroom.

The RS gets a bigger front lounge, by moving the access door towards the rear of the caravan. Moving the fridge freezer to the nearside at the foot of the bed means kitchen space has been retained.

As with all 2011 Lunars, aluminium bed and seat frames are standard, LED lighting comes in across the ranges, washroom doors are improved and worktops are tougher.

Externally, the main change are the graphics and an awning light operated by remote control. For the first time, an Al-Ko sidelift jack is supplied for the first time. A jack is essential for fitting an Al-Ko Secure wheel lock, which is also standard, along with the ATC stability control system.

An onboard water tank has been restored to the standard specification. The way the system operates is worthy of note too. The state of the art system from Whale electronically switches between inboard and external water sources, with no need to fumble around under bunks for the changeover taps. Drain down is made easy with an easily accessible tap too.

Inside, the smart interiors of the 2010 line-up remain similar. New ‘Stanton’ upholstery is very handsome and gets standard bolster, throw and lumber cushions for support. As with the Lexon range, Heki rooflights get integrated lighting built into the surround, LED strip lights illuminate the kitchens. A very smart touch is the concealed mood lighting for subtle night time lighting.

Weights are yet to be confirmed, but the inclusion of the water tank, whose weight has to be included as if full will see weights creep close to 1750Kg. Prices are up on last year by around 3%, equating to around £500 per van.

Delta RS - £21995
Delta TI - £21995

Verdict:
Great package of updates but jury is out on whether the short transverse bed in the TI is too short. RS is our pick.
