Now in its seventh year, the Tow Car Awards 2013 saw 46 of the latest models hitched to caravans in the quest to find the very best – and it’s the most rigorous towcar test programme in Britain.

Our expert panel of judges features road testers from What Car? and Practical Caravan magazines, plus practicality assessors from The Camping & Caravanning Club.

The cars were judged in categories according to weight, so that buyers can choose a safe, legal match for their caravan. There’s something for every buyer, whether their priority is CO2 emissions, low ownership costs or outright towing performance.

Economy testing was also part of this year’s test programme. We assessed a cross section of tow cars to measure the impact of towing on fuel economy accurately.

Check out our video below, which shows how we test the cars, and watch this space on 14 June, when we’ll reveal the winners here on our website.
