Foodies Festival celebrates the country’s best food and drink, with celebrity chefs, demonstrations, thousands of products for you to buy and plenty to do besides.

This summer sees even more events added to the roster after last year’s success. It comes to Kenwood House in Hampstead, London this weekend (30 May – 1 June), Clapham Common, London on 6-8 June, Bristol Harbourside 11-13 June, Tatton Park in Cheshire 18-20 June, Edinburgh Inverleith Park 8-10 August and Oxford South Park on 23-25 August. There will aslo be a brand new FEAST festival held at Battersea Park on 15-17 August.

Learn new cooking skills with top celebrity chefs such as Great British Menu judge Glynn Purnell, Masterchef winner Mat Follas, former Coronation Street star and cheese-maker Sean Wilson and actor turned farm shop owner Charlie Lawson. There will be lots of other expert chefs, as well, preparing their signature dishes in the Chef’s theatre with hints and tips to help you re-create them in your home or van.

Each three-day festival will see lots of wisdom and delicious flavours from other chefs such as; BBC’s Great British Menu contestant and Aumbry head chef Mary-Ellen McTague, Malaysian chef Norman Musa of Ning, David Mooney of Knutsford’s Old Sessions House, MasterChef finalist Jackie Kearney, Helen and Lisa Tse of Manchester’s Sweet Mandarin Restaurant, Chris O’Callaghan of Linthwaite House in the Lake District and The Yang Sing Culinary Team.

You can spend the day exploring a huge array of tasty treats, with tents such as the Vintage Tea Tent, the Chocolate, Baking and Preserves Tent, the Producers Market and the Chilli Food Market to tickle your taste buds.

If you come along hungry, you won’t be disappointed by the abundance of chances to eat. The only difficulty you might have is choosing where to start. New for 2014 is the chilli eating challenge in the Chilli Food Market from 5pm everyday. Only the brave need enter!

The BBQ Arena will also have plenty of opportunity to fill your stomach, with challenges and meat-eating competitions as well as hourly demonstrations.

Try a more relaxed sit-down meal in the Restaurant Area where you can sample dishes from the menus of local eateries at their pop-up restaurants. New for this year, there will also be a Feasting Tent where you can chat to other foodies, experts and chefs in the relaxed atmosphere at long banqueting tables.

You can also deck your caravan out with beautiful, functional pieces from the Vintage Kitchen Market, also a new addition this year.

Let’s not forget the drink. You can relax on hay bales in the Real Ale and Cider Farm area. Join fellow beer lovers and chat to beer and cider expert Melissa Cole while you sample the specialist tipples. There is even a guitar behind the bar for any spontaneous sing-alongs.

Plus, if you head to the Tatton Park festival you can drink as much as you like if you travel by public transport, as this year there will be a free shuttle bus for all visitors between Knutsford station and Tatton Park across all three days of the festival. There will even be music and other entertainment, just in case you get bored of the food (surely not!). Keep the kids entertained at the Children’s Cookery Theatre, which will have an Around the World theme. Here, they can learn all about cooking a variety of food, kitchen basics and even try different tastes.
