Check out a quartet of distinctive tourers, see what tow car ability the twin-turbo VW Passat Estate has and visit Lincolnshire on Practical Caravan TV

First to feature on Practical Caravan TV this week, it’s the Lunar Quasar 574. With its transverse island bed, this well-specced and thoughtfully-constructed four-berth adds a new layout to the range for this season. The comfortable front lounge is well-lit, thanks to the Skyview rooflight, and well-endowed with storage space, too. Moving into the kitchen, there’s a dual-fuel hob, a separate oven and grill, a Dometic fridge, a microwave, a stainless-steel sink and a good amount of worktop space. The bedroom impresses, too, with its fixed double, while pass through the sliding door into the washroom and there’s a smart sink, a generous, fully-lined shower cubicle and good storage, too. See it for yourself in this week’s show.

You can catch this episode at 8pm on Monday 9 May, at 5pm on Wednesday 11 May, and at 7pm on Friday 13, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May 2016. Head to Sky 212 or Freeview 254 to watch (for the latter you'll need a smart TV), or you can watch live online – look for Showcase.

Now, are you looking for a new caravan with a budget of around £15,000? Do you fancy something a little different? Then our Knaus Sport & Fun review will be of interest and could be the van for you. The entrance door is on the UK offside but there’s also a wide door on the rear panel, handy for loading bicycles and the like. Layout wise, the double bed lies across the front, the curved, blue-toned kitchen with stacks of storage next (on the UK offside), with the lounge opposite it and the washroom next to it. Tune in to see the Knaus Sport & Fun’s many handy, clever features.

Then, our Tow Car Editor David Motton checks out a car that, on paper, has stacks of tow car potential – but can this twin-turbo, four-wheel-drive Volkswagen Passat Estate justify its hefty price tag? The 4Motion’s 1735kg kerbweight and 2200kg towing limit certainly mean it can tow a wide range of caravans. And even towing a large, twin-axle tourer, it’s not short on pace, its 236bhp and 369lb ft torque whisking the outfit along. Unflappable and utterly stable, the 4Motion VW Passat Estate is a super tow car, so tune in on Sky 212, on Freeview 254 or watch live online, to see it for yourself, on Practical Caravan TV.

Another tourer we review this week is the twin-axle Compass Rallye 636. If you’ve got a large tow car and want a bit of luxury, this £25,399 van might be just the ticket – and it is loaded with kit, including a full set of Al-Ko goodies. Inside, this six-berth has a bright parallel lounge at the front, a large side dinette on the offside, a big and very well-equipped kitchen on the nearside, and a pair of fixed bunks. There’s also a huge, full-width end washroom.

In this episode you can also join us at the five-star Woodhall Country Park in Lincolnshire, a great place to stay if you love fishing. From one of the 120 pitches you can while the hours away at one of this site’s three fishing lakes, or hire a bike and hit the road. This dog-friendly, family-friendly site has all the facilities you’d expect and is in a peaceful setting. Watch Practical Caravan TV and see it for yourself.

Last but not least, we review the twin-lounge, five-berth Adria Altea 472DS Eden, in Silver Collection guise. The massive panoramic sunroof lets light pour into the lounge, making it feel anything other than entry level, this reinforced by the clean, uncluttered design of the overhead cabinets and the ambient lighting. The kitchen has a three-burner hob, a combined oven and grill, a microwave and a fridge. And then there’s the rear lounge, a great space for the kids, and it has five overhead lockers and some small drawers, too. At night, the front and rear lounges convert into double beds, the rear with a fold-out bunk over it. There’s also a compact, fully-lined wetroom. Priced at under £15,500, you’re getting a lot for your money, so make sure you check it out!

That’s it for another week. Don’t forget to watch Practical Caravan TV on Freeview 254, Sky 212 and live online at the times listed above.
