Car journeys will never be unproductive again thanks to Ring Automotive’s FM E:Can. This multi-talented inverter unit provides a 150W mains socket in your car, powered by the cigarette lighter socket. On top of that, a USB charging point and FM transmitter allows users to broadcast the contents of their MP3 player and recieve it through the FM channel on the car radio.

Mobile phones, camcorders, video game consoles and laptops can all be used on the move, plugged in via a three-pin socket. Designed to fit perfectly in drinks holders, the E:Can allows you to play music through the car’s radio with eight FM preset stations to tune in to.

In use, the FM E:Can got mixed results. In built-up areas, tuning the radio to receive the broadcast from the E:Can was very hit and miss, despite having a variety of frequencies to choose from. It is easy to use, though, and thanks to the clever design, is easily stowed in a cup holder while on the move.
