Camping communications specialist Solwise has launched a number of new products designed to make it easier to get online when pitched in a place with a weak Wi-Fi signal.
The NET-WL-USBCATCHER is a weatherproof Wi-Fi adapter that’s designed to be fixed to the outside of a van using a removable suction mount.

Capable of connecting to 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi networks, the NET-WL-USBCATCHER connects to a directional or omni-directional antenna. The set-up is sensitive enough to latch onto a weak Wi-Fi signal from a campsite hotspot, or a distant public hotspot of the kind operated by BT.
The NET-WL-USBCATCHER has a 4.5m cable that then connects to the Solwise WL-USBWIFIRPT-3000 Wi-Fi ‘repeater’ inside the van.
This creates a mini Wi-Fi hotspot of its own to which any Wi-Fi device can then connect, including laptops, tablets and smartphones.
