The charming Dale Farm campsite sits in the heart of the Peak District, with great views. They only accept caravans by prior agreement, but if you get a pitch, you won’t want to leave. There’s also a farm shop, where you can buy their own meats, jams, chutneys and cakes, and other local produce.

It’s quite difficult to find more spectacular views than those in the Alps, and Huttopia Bourg-St-Maurice benefits from these timeless surroundings. It’s not open in the winter, but book ahead for the summer and start dreaming of the mountain air.

Experience the wonder that is Snowdonia National Park from your pitch at Gwern Gof Isaf campsite. It is a low-key campsite, so don’t expect too may of the bells and whistles, but this fabulous location is, quite simply, exceptional.

10. Scottish splendour

Enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the Cairngorms National Park from Oakwood Caravan & Camping Park, which is bordered by lush oak woods and has excellent facilities – it only opened in August 2018, so everything is new.
