[tl:gallery size=470×265]The amount of jargon associated with SLR photography can be a bit of a deterrent for anyone wanting to try their hand for the first time.

There are tools you can try to help you get to grips with some of the terminology, but reading about the way different lenses work, for example, isn’t quite the same as seeing them in action.

Fortunately, there’s a couple of SLR camera experts who share that sentiment and so they’ve put together a short video that shows how lens sizes effect the framing of a shot, from 16mm lens all the way up to 200mm.

The video is part one of a series that explains a whole host of camera technology, and subsequent installments explain such things as focal length and depth of field.
