Since we relaunched the Practical Caravan website in March, we’ve added loads of new content and it’s gone from strength to strength, so let’s take a quick look at what your top hits were last month (June 2014).

The headline news is that pageviews have more than doubled since June 2013, practicalcaravan.com receiving over three quarters of a million in June 2014, so a big thank you from us to you for clicking.

Given that we revealed the winners of the 2014 Tow Car Awards on 12 June, perhaps unsurprisingly, the most viewed blog last month was our Tow Car Editor David Motton’s preview of the 2014 awards. We also launched a brand new website and revealed that the Nissan Qashqai was our overall winner. If you want to watch our 2014 winners video click here, or to see how we tested the cars, head here.

Our shout-out to caravan cooks also got you clicking. Very soon, we’re starting a new feature in the magazine called Caravan Chef, where Practical Caravan’s Emma will be road testing recipes that you’ve sent in to see how easy they are to cook when on tour. She recently tested her first recipe and very much enjoyed it – and you can read more in our Summer Special, on sale from 17 July. And please keep on sending her your meal ideas – click here to read more about this feature. And if you would like to get involved in our brand new, culinary caravanning challenge, submit your recipes to Practical Caravan’s Emma by email.

As we’re now in the middle of the summer touring season, let’s move on to travel. When we relaunched the Practical Caravan website earlier this year, the travel section was a brand new feature of the site. And as we know that Cornwall and Devon are very popular destinations for caravan holidays, it’s no great shock that Devon and Cornwall were the most viewed travel pages.

However, one peculiarity we have noticed is that the most clicked on news story in June 2014 was about the Top 100 Sites Guide 2013 – please click here for the story in question. As the Top 100 Sites Guide 2014 has already been published, helping you find the best campsites across the country for your caravan holidays this summer, and voting is already open for the 2015 guide (click here to vote and ensure that your favourite campsites get the recognition they deserve), why a story about the 2013 guide is getting traffic we don’t know. But if it’s helping you get the most from your caravan holidays, then we won’t complain!

We are pleased to say that our forum is as popular as ever, the technical pages getting the most hits, proving that this is still one of the best places to go online for top caravanning advice. And the Practical Caravan YouTube page is growing in popularity, too, with in excess of 53,000 views last month. If you’ve missed our TV shows or you want to watch our many tow car reviews, it’s the place to go.

So that is it for June. And with lots of competitions, reviews and much more to come in July, we hope it will be another great month at practicalcaravan.com.
