Next week Friday morning at about 8am the Severn bore is supposed to be a 5 star bore due to tide height of over 10m. Although we live not far from the River Severn we have never witnessed it and have made a point of going this year to a CL near Slimbridge.
The other two 5 star bores in 2019 are at night so not much good to us.
We are on the M5 side of the river and are hoping to be able to get down the road to Arlingham or maybe Overton to watch the bore even though it means getting up very early on the Friday to get a spot even though it is a working day for some.
Has any one been to see one of the 5 star bores and did they find a good viewpoint? We expect that there will be loads of people about?

We saw it at Stonebench which gave a very good viewpoint.

Last time I saw it was around 55 years ago, stood on the bank near the Bird in Hand pub on the bend in Newnham. It was a huge bore, came right up over the car park and washed over the road.

It's better in a Royale!

Yes it’s not uncommon for cars parked in some spots to get “very wet”. Best to park a good way back and walk to the viewing place unless the parking is well above the height if the Bore.

It appears from Google that the Bird in Hand is now called the Severn Bore.

It's better in a Royale!
