Once again there is a new updated version of Archies Campings (archiescampings.eu/) available on line from today. For those who don't know Archies Campings is a website containing a database of over 33,000 campsites throughout Europe, including the UK Club and commercial sites. These are available as downloads for all types of SatNavs so you can install these campsites as POI's. There is also an App available for smartphones and tablets, which once purchased (modest fee) gives lifetime updates. The website and App also gives separate downloads for Camping Cheque sites (this year only as the available sites can only be used by those who still have credits on their Gold or Silver cards), ACSI Card sites and Best Deal, and Archie has plans to add Camping Key Europe sites if there is enough interest, so please let him know if you think this would be a good idea.

In this update there are (as usual) additional campsites, especially in Italy but also in other countries, and other sites have been deleted if they have closed or become residential mobile home sites.

If there are any other additions you think would be useful, or if you have noticed anything which needs correcting in the database please let Archie know through the website.

Happy Holidays.

Please note that there is now a July update available for Archies Campings. More sites have been added in the south of England, and both in the UK and other countries more sites have been deleted if they have closed or become residential mobile home only sites.

There was little support for the Camping Key Europe sites being a separate file, so for the moment that idea has been shelved.

Please continue to keep Archie updated with any changes of information of new sites which you might come across.

Please would anyone who uses Motorhome forums or any camping or caravanning Facebook groups, or is a member of 'the other Club', share this post as I have only a limited internet connection and may not have time to announce it everywhere I normally do! Many thanks.

Lunar Quasar 696 live-in test - That snazzy side window you can see at the nearside front is actually a fake, so the interior wall is left free for placing the TV (© Practical Caravan)
Lunar Quasar 696 T/A - Some might want for a proper nearside window, but the large front gas locker is welcome. Neat graphics and smart alloys look good (© Practical Caravan)
Wheelhome Dashaway - The electrically operated roof is raised via a switch by the door (© Practical Caravan)
Swift Cruach Culmor - Built on an Al-Ko chassis, the Culmor has an AKS hitch lock but no ATC anti-snaking. Alloys are standard - as are chic graphics (© Practical Caravan)
