Now that i have repaired all the damage area behind the toilet from a possible leaking seal combined with the filler door not properly sealed from the outside, how many seals are suppose to be there, I have one as you can see but there are 3 grooves, extra seals ?? cant find any pictures to confirm how many seals on this part.

Do caravaners empty the chemicals in the toilet while towing or rely on the seals to do its job.

many thanks

I would say that 1 seal is perfectly adequate in the application, and the other rings essentially provide a degree of mechanical alignment. What do others think?

I always empty the toilet cassette if somewhat full, but am not obsessive if there is a little in it when we leave a site. The flush tank I like to see less than half full, but again am not obsessive.

The recommendation is to empty it to stop water moving when traveling and causing instability, but they contain so little I do not bother and have never had a problem and ours is at the extreme rear corner. A near full toilet might be another matter though.

On travelling , We keep about 1/3 from empty. Just incase we need to flush when stopped.

All things considered (well almost  ) good practice I agree, I admit I do not measure 1/3rd accurately by any means  .

It is handy to keep a little bit of everything in reserve for contingencies ;)

The 3 seal grooves are probably there to account for different wall thicknesses.

Well for the sake of £2 i've added another seal but will probably empty it while towing as i've seen first hand what damage it can cause from the last owner.

You buy expensive 'o' - rings! Keep a look out in Aldi/Lidl for the selection boxes they have from time to time. (Ideally get a metric box and an Imperial).
