For the new season, the ‘Xcel’ moniker will only be given to the three eight-foot wide models in the Laser Xcel range, which come with special Laser Xcel spec including E&P self levelling and, from this season, a 100W roof-mounted solar panel.
All other eight-foot wide models, including the two new models in the plain Laser range, will instead be called ‘Xtra’. The Hull company said it is making the change to avoid confusion.
The two new models in the Laser range are the Laser 545 Xtra, a single axle four-berth with a rear in-line island bed, a central washroom and an L-shaped front lounge. There is also the Laser 620 Xtra, a twin axle four-berth with a second side dinette and a huge end washroom – similar to the Acadia and VIP 520 but with a wider side dinette.
The new eight foot wide model in the VIP range is the VIP 540 Xtra, a single-axle four-berth with a rear corner bed with a dressing table, corner washroom and L-shaped front lounge.
To reflect the rebranding in the Acadia range, the 830, 860 and 875 Xcel have become, respectively, the 630 660 and 675 Xtra.
There is also a single axle Lusso model, known as the Lusso I to distinguish it from the existing twin-axle Lusso II. With an internal length of 5.80m, the new model is 46cm shorter than the twin-axle, and the length seems to have been taken off in the front lounge, which in both models is now L-shaped with a foldaway table. But otherwise the layout is the same, with a transverse island bed and an end washroom.
Notable additions in spec include Truma Comfort air conditioning and a much larger kitchen extension in the Lussos, a kitchen extractor fan and much deeper top mounted washbasin in the Laser and Laser Excel ranges, and new overhead locker doors in the VIP range that align with the ceiling much more smoothly when open.
