The big reveal of our Tow Car Awards is just a week away, with winners in five categories and an overall winner set to be announced.

There's just one week to go before we announce the results of this year's Tow Car Awards!

As we wind up to the announcement of the winners of the 2019 Tow Car of the Year Awards, here's a reminder of what it's all about.

Our annual Tow Car of the Year Awards uses rigorous testing of all aspects of the contending cars on a designated course, to pit the contenders against each other and find out which really is the best car for towing a caravan.

If you're in the market for a new tow car, the results of our Awards can point you in the right direction, no matter what you're looking for. The variety of models, kerbweights and budgets can help you choose your next tug, and full reviews of every car tested will soon be available on the dedicated Tow Car Awards website.

The week-long testing event, supported by Swift Group and Club Care Insurance, is designed to be as rigorous as possible. We look at the towing experience, everyday driving, the practicality of the car and its towing gear, and the safety, reliability, running costs and value for money of each car.

The cars are split into five categories based on the size of van they can tow; up to 1400kg, 1400-1549kg, 1550-1699kg, 1700-1899kg and 1900kg+. Plus, of course, the teams from Practical Caravan and WhatCar? have picked out an overall winner.

Check back next week to find out which of the contenders came top of the class!

In the mean time, you can always check out last year's winners.
