The annual Best Certificated Site awards have been revealed by The Camping and Caravanning Club.

The awards are made up of five categories: Best Friendly Club Welcome, Best New Site, Best Hideaway, Best CS for Families and Best Facilities.

This year’s winner topped not one, but two of those categories, as well as the overall Best Certificated Site 2019 gong.

And the winner is: Colman’s of Aysgarth, a 2-acre site overlooking Wensleydale in North Yorkshire, in the north east of England.

Owners Clare and Matt Colman opened the site in 2016, and provide excellent facilities such as a clean, modern shower block. The site has stunning views over Wensleydale, and is within walking distance of local pubs and a shop.

Of the award, Clare said “We’re thrilled to have won this award. We set up our site with no other aim than to open up our land for others to enjoy – I’m chuffed to bits.”
