LEADING CARAVAN manufacturer Swift Group has announced record sales of £32million at last month’s International Caravan & Motorhome show.

Following the launch of four new product ranges in September, the Hull-based manufacturer booked a huge 6300m sq display space at the NEC, from where its new vans took centre stage.

Impressed

The buying public was clearly impressed with the new Swift Challenger and Conqueror and Sterling Eccles and Elite line-ups, as demand for them helped Swift’s sales climb to an all-time record high of £32million.

Business at the show was brisk as customers were rushing to buy before the VAT rate increases to 20% in January 2011.

Good news

There was more good news for Swift at the show, as its new Challenger 570SR was crowned Practical Caravan’s Tourer of the Year.

“With a hardening economic climate we went into the NEC show believing our new products would be in great demand but a little unsure as to how the market would stand up,” said Swift’s Commercial Director, Nick Page.

“We are delighted with the results, which have given us a substantial increase in market share and secured not only record sales but a good ongoing order book well into next year.”

Confirmed for 2011 shows

Swift has also confirmed its attendance at two major events early in 2011: Manchester Central Caravan & Motorhome Show (20-23 January) and the Boat & Caravan Show at NEC Birmingham (22-27 February).

So if you haven’t managed to get acquainted with the company’s much talked-about new tourers, then these two shows are perfect opportunities.
