COFTON COUNTRY HOLIDAYS can add two more gold award wins to their collection. This is a 4-star holiday park that can prove it.

In the Visit Devon Tourism Awards, held on November 13, family-run Cofton Country Holidays in Dawlish walked away with a Gold award for Holiday Park of the Year.

Just weeks before, they were awarded the ‘Best Self Catering, Serviced Apartments, Holiday Park or Holiday Village’ by the South Devon Tourism and Hospitality awards for.

This double win adds to their awards collection; they won Silver in the 2012 Devon Tourist Awards, and bronze in the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2012/2013. They also hold the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation, which they have retained for over 15 years.

The recent investment in the park’s leisure facilities definitely had a key role in securing the awards. Helen Scott, director of Cofton acknowleges the importance of keeping facilities up to date; “You have to be making improvements all the time and keeping one step ahead.”

Summer of 2012 saw the park open their new indoor leisure facility, including a swimming pool, gym, restaurant, games arcade and evening entertainment venue.

The touring area of the park is also highly regarded, with pitches close to the fishing lakes and some beautiful views. You can book pitches online directly with Caravan Sitefinder to make sure you don’t miss out next summer. Plus they have touring pitches open throughout Autumn and Winter.

Other winners in this week’s Visit Devon Tourism Awards include: Finlake Holiday Park which took the Silver award for Holiday Park of the Year and Ladram Bay Holiday Park which took Bronze in the same category.

Debbie Dugard from Beverley Holidays took Silver in the category for the Tourism Superstar award for customer service and the winners for small visitor attraction of the year, tourism activity, sport & experience of the year and large visitor attraction of the year are worth a look if you’re planning a trip to Devon.

All of the winners of the Visit Devon Tourism Awards 2013 were celebrated at the Grand Hotel in Torquay on Wednesday 13th November.
