JULIA BRADBURY HAS been revealed as the new president of the Camping and Caravanning Club.

The decision was announced at the Club’s annual AGM in County Durham on Saturday 26 October. Former President of the Camping and Caravanning Club, David Bellamy will now be Vice President.

Bradbury is excited to get started in her new role;

“I have had the pleasure of working with the Club for several years, so to now have been elected as President is a true honour and one that I plan to immerse myself in.”

Julia Bradbury, TV presenter and outdoor enthusiast, has presented many walking and outdoors programmes on the BBC, which the Club said makes her a natural choice for the position because of her passion for the great outdoors.

She has also helped to launch and promote several Club initiatives, including ‘Real Richness’, ‘Real Richness – the Awards’ and ‘New to Camping’. In the course of this, she made some very strong ties with the Camping and Caravanning Club’s members.

Her role will include making regular appearances for the Club and write a quarterly column for the Club’s magazine.

Director General of the Camping and Caravanning Club, Robert Louden MBE said;

“The President is the figurehead of the Club and we couldn’t think of anyone more naturally suited to the role than Julia. She symbolises what we are all about and continues to grow in stature as an outdoor supporter and television personality.”

“We’d also like to thank David for his true dedication and commitment over the last 11 years.”

David Bellamy said how much he enjoyed his 11 years as President and “I wish Julia all the best of luck in her position; I’m convinced she’ll be an exceptional addition to the Club.”
