New kitchen layouts and an intriguing new way to make more space around a rear island bed are among the changes seen in the new Black Edition Phoenix and Pegasus ranges Bailey is launching this month, with new Phoenix models not showing any price increase.
Both the Phoenix Black Edition and Pegasus Black Edition models feature silver side panels and black alloy wheels as standard, with black plastic grab handles adding to the look. Models from both ranges are set to be on display at the Motorhome and Caravan Show this October.
Inside, the Bristol caravan manufacturer has done away with curtains in the front lounges, replacing them instead with distinctive highly textured fabric panels. All Pegasus Black models come with an L-shaped kitchen, while in Phoenix Black models, the pull-0ut extension that was previously an option is now standard.
In addition, in response to customer feedback about the difficulty of squeezing past a central washroom to get to a rear in-line island bed, Bailey has redesigned the rear partition door in two models that sport this layout – the Phoenix Black 640 and the single-axle Pegasus Black Portofino.
Instead of just sliding from one side to the other, it now folds in towards the washroom and doubles up as a door for the main washroom area.
Other changes include the SONOS speaker: while this is still included as standard in both ranges, it no longer rests in its own groove but instead can be positioned anywhere.
Pegasus Black models, such as the Pegasus Black Edition Bologna, now also come with a Truma 130W caravan solar panel as standard.
Phoenix Black models come with mid-grey Echo upholstery as standard, while Pegasus Grande comes with Lima as standard – a similar colour, but this time an Aquaclean fabric, which is an option in Phoenix. As an option in Pegasus, you can also go for a more striking monochrome Sierra, which is a Stainaway fabric.
In total, there are models in the Phoenix Black Edition range: the twin-axle six-berth 762 model has been dropped, making this an all single-axle range. Prices range from £23,599 to £25,649, which is no increase at all on the previous Phoenix GT75 generation. The MTPLM figures range from 1142kg to 1467kg.
There are also five Pegasus Black models – the five-berth Ancona model has once again been dropped – you can see what we made of a previous season’s model in my review of the 2024 Pegasus Grande GT75 Ancona. Prices range from £29,799 to £32,499 – roughly speaking a 3.1% rise on the Pegasus Grande GT75 range. The MTPLM figures range from 1599kg to 1754kg.
Unusually, Bailey has launched the new range just as models are leaving the factory, so they should be on the forecourt of your local dealer already.
The 2026 launches from Bailey follow on from its 2025 range, with our judges picking out two models as category winners at the Practical Caravan Awards 2025, including the Bailey Alicanto Grande Deluxe Alvor, a tourer that we think would be a great choice for a seasonal pitch.
