For the second consecutive year Practical Caravan readers have voted Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park as their favourite site in the Top 100 Sites Awards 2013.

The North Somerset site took the overall winner, regional winner for Somerset, Avon and Wiltshire and adults-only gongs at the Top 100 Awards ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel at Birmingham’s NEC. The awards were made during the Spring Caravan and Camping Show on 19 February.

Caravanners filled in forms at sites and online at Caravan Sitefinder to vote for their favourite site. Site guests had to give a satisfaction rating regarding the booking process, cleanliness of site facilities, ease of access, friendliness of staff and overall value for money.

Bath Chew Valley’s location at Bishop Sutton makes it a great base for visiting the North Somerset coast, the cities of Bristol  (11 miles) and Bath (14 miles), and tourist attractions Wookey Hole and Cheddar Gorge (11 miles each).

The year-round site was commended by readers for “the well-kept garden setting”, very high standard of general maintenance and the “well-mannered, helpful staff”.

On a recent visit, Practical Caravan experienced the very helpful pitch-it-for-you service provided by the site staff: “It saves the flowerbeds,” quipped owner Keith Betton. And they are worth looking after, the garden setting is lovely and the overall feel of the site is one of great tranquility.

There is no shop but the village, with a shop and pub, is just a short walk away. Chew Valley Lake country park is just 800 metres distance, so there’s plenty of space for dogs and their owners to let off steam.

If you haven’t already visited why not find out why other caravanners enjoy the site so much. Bath Chew Valley is holding its low-season prices until 22 March. Voting for the 2014 awards will open at Easter.
