FOREST HOLIDAYS CAMPSITES’ reputation for being green has been further enhanced with a strong showing in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards.

The awards are given to those sites that show significant effort to support the local community, manage land as a haven for wildlife, reduce energy, water and other resource use and reduce, reuse and recycle waste products.

Sixteen top sites

16 FH sites demonstrated exceptional attention to detail in protecting and improving the natural environment. The top performers are
Aldridge Hill
Ardgartan
Beddgelert
Cashel
Christchurch
Cobleland
Denny Wood & Matley Wood
Glenmore
Hollands Wood
Holmsley

And the success did not end there as Bracelands and Ashurst sites achieved silver rosettes respectively.

Winners are chosen based on regular assessments by wildlife experts. The David Bellamy Conservation Award Scheme is one of the longest running green tourism awards in the UK and is a joint partnership between the Conservation Foundation and the British Holiday & Homes Parks Association.
