DELAYS IN SPARE part deliveries are a primary cause of complaint for caravanners. Dealers blame manufacturers and manufacturers blame dealers, but typically it is the customer who suffers.
In an effort to improve the service to end users, Bailey of Bristol is offering selected spares for direct sale on a bespoke new website. The Bailey Parts Direct service gives caravan owners the convenience of ordering genuine Bailey parts and having them delivered to their home or to their pitch, if needed while they are touring.
How the site works
Traditionally these parts are ordered via the dealer. That remains the case for items which need installing by an Approved Bailey Service Centre. Despite this, the site stock list contains approximately 3000 parts for Bailey models up to ten years old.
Initially the parts ordering service will be available to any postal address in the UK with plans to roll it out to those in mainland Europe at a later date. Parts in stock ordered by 12.30pm Monday to Friday will be despatched the same day, while parts ordered by 5pm will be sent the following working day. Payments can be made using all major credit or debit cards.
Managing Director Nick Howard explained the thinking behind the new part supply initiative.
“We are all familiar with e-commerce and the convenience of ordering items from the internet…It is important that we can provide our customers with the level of service that they have come to expect when shopping online. We believe the creation of the Bailey Parts Direct web site is an important step forward in this regard and hopefully one which will enhance the owners enjoyment of our caravans”
