What’s the hottest layout of 2017? Why, it’s the central washroom with a rear island bed, of course! And in this week’s Practical Caravan TV show we’ve got two of them.
We start with the Sprite Major 4 EB, which brings you this plush layout for under £17,000! Inside and out it definitely doesn’t feel like a budget caravan.
Night or day the living area is filled with light, and although the kitchen is a bit cramped, it is well-specced. You get a three-burner hob, an oven, a grill, a microwave and a fridge, so you shouldn’t feel short-changed.
Watch this week’s TV show to find out how, even on a single-axle van, the central washroom still gives a good amount of dressing space. And, of course, to see this caravan’s star attraction, its master bedroom.
You’ll find Practical Caravan TV on the Showcase TV channel, on Sky 212, Freesat 161 or Freeview 254 (you will need a smart TV for the latter). Or watch our live stream.

We’ve also got a super tow car test for you this week, as our expert David Motton tests the Hyundai Santa Fe. Is the best SUV tow car for you?
Caravanners will be delighted by the Santa Fe’s two-tonne kerbweight, seven-seat cabin and impressive standard kit list. The 2.2-litre diesel engine, with 197bhp and 325lb ft torque, has plenty of grunt to pull even a twin-axle tourer, and the car performed well in our lane-change test.
Tune in to check out the Hyundai Santa Fe’s spacious cabin, and to discover which practicality boxes we’re particularly pleased to see this car ticking.
After the break, we take a look at a caravan that shares the same layout as the Sprite we saw earlier, but takes things to another level in terms of luxurious fittings.
It’s time for our Lunar Clubman SR review. And the first thing you’ll notice is that the range has been given a makeover for the 2017 season, as befits its upmarket specification.
Practicality gets a boost from this caravan’s innovative storage and if you’re surprised to see a panoramic front sunroof, tune in to see why we think it is a successful addition.
Don’t miss the SR’s impressively-lit lounge and spacious, well-equipped kitchen. The central washroom isn’t huge, as this is a single-axle van, but in here there is no doubting this model’s luxury status.
Next, we’re in the ancient woodlands of the Forest of Arden at Somers Wood Caravan Park. This adults-only, open-all-year campsite in Warwickshire has 48 sheltered touring pitches and a smart washblock. See what other facilities this site offers guests on this week’s Practical Caravan TV show.
Finally, we review the 2017 Coachman VIP 565. It’s well kitted-out outside and inside, the fixed twin single beds are lower and better-sized than before, and benefit from the inclusion of a new rooflight.
See this caravan’s comfortable lounge, roomy kitchen and the massive, fully-lined shower in the end washroom, only this week on Practical Caravan TV.
With five chances to watch, make sure you don’t miss our show. Catch us on Sky 212, Freeview 254, Freesat 161 or live online.
