The Christmas weekends at Shropshire’s Ironbridge Gorge Museum complex, which is in tier two of the Government’s response to dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic, will take place this year.

Some of the museums –  Blists Hill Victorian Town, Jackfield Tile Museum, Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron, plus visitor information hubs at Museum of The Gorge and the Iron Bridge Tollhouse and the Furnace Kitchen, Coalbrookdale – open at 10am on 3 December.

The museum, designated a world heritage site, gives a fascinating insight into the important role played by Shropshire in the Industrial Revolution, and the Christmas weekends at the Blists Hill Victorian Town is one of its most popular events. Families will encounter brass bands and carol singers, and shops with ‘Victorian’ traders and town folk, where they will be able to buy food and gifts. An ice rink and big top provide plenty of fun and you can watch what’s going on from the upper deck of a horse-drawn bus. New for this year is Santa’s Grotto.

Tickets for its Victorian Christmas Weekend events on 5-6 and 12-13 December are available now with a ‘100% Money Back Guarantee’ if you buy tickets for this event but can’t come because of local lockdown restrictions or Covid-related illness.
