Two famous, high quality caravanning brands star in our latest TV show in Range Rover and Eriba, and as we’re also sharing some expert tips and much more, make sure you watch our show on The Caravan Channel. Tune in to Freesat 402 or Sky 192 and look for Showcase. Alternatively, watch live online!

First in our latest TV show, as promised, it’s our Eriba Touring GT Troll 530 review, and Practical Caravan’s Mike Le Caplain is here to take us round Eriba’s latest pop-top tourer. The famous ‘mini Airstream’ looks remain, as does the brand’s excellent build quality. Inside, raise the roof and head room is decent if not generous, and it is light, bright and airy inside, during the day and the night. The rear dinette seats four, while the snug front dinette is perfect for two, the trademark bay windows making it a lovely place to be. Caravan chefs will, however, feel the pinch in this compact van, as there’s a two-burner gas hob and a 70-litre fridge, but no oven or grill. There is also a compact washroom, space to sleep three and a host of thoughtful touches – tune in to see these for yourself.

We follow this with a look at a used caravan with expert John Wickersham. He’s found a two-berth 2008 Coachman Amara carrying a £7500 price tag, and sets about seeing how this seven-year old van differs from a brand new model. He also notes how you can buy a secondhand tourer and upgrade it, to suit your needs, ideal for the canny caravanner. Watch our show on Sky 192, Freesat 402 and online to find out more.

After the break, join Practical Caravan’s Group editor Alastair Clements at Hawk Place, a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site in Birchington-on-Sea in Kent. Like all these affordable, five-van sites, it is for members only, but you can sign up on site, and a stay at this lovely, rural site truly is back to basics in an idyllic, farmyard setting. Still, there’s electric hook-up, fresh water and a chemical toilet point, and facilities including a shower are under construction. Meet the owners and get a feel for the site with us on The Caravan Channel.

Next, it’s time for a tow car test, Practical Caravan’s Tow car editor David Motton putting the Range Rover SDV8 Autobiography through its paces. We’re sure we don’t need to tell you what excellent tow cars Range Rovers can make. For many, they are the money-no-object choice, and this is no exception. It will set you back in excess of £96,000, but will have the might to tow any size of caravan, while you enjoy its luxurious accommodation. Seamlessly powerful and stable when towing, it is still a cut above.

Finally, John Wickersham returns with more expert caravan advice – and this time he’s focusing on microwaves. He runs through the essential things to look out for and consider when having a microwave fitted in your van.

We at Practical Caravan co-produce these shows on The Caravan Channel with Information TV, and each episode is aired 10 times across a two-week period. In the case of this show, you can see it from Monday 27 April until Sunday 10 May 2015, at these times, on these days:
