We’re just back from the Motorhome & Caravan Show and while I was there, I got a little fascinated with the range (and indeed in some cases, lack) of upholstery available when you buy a new van.

Above are a few examples I snapped of the type of fabrics you’ll find in a new van today. When talking to manufacturers at the show, they told me that fabric definitely causes a bit of friction.

There are those who swear Brit buyers won’t be tempted away from their prized patterns whereas it seems new caravanners prefer the plainer, more European approach.

What do you think? Patterned or plain? I’d love to know your thoughts as I think it’s about time we showed some appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into these fabrics, whether you like them or not!
