CARAVANNERS IN THE south of England are getting their first chance to cast an eye over the new Eterniti caravans at this week’s Motorhome, Caravan and Camping Show.
Eterniti caravans displayed its first tourer at the Manchester show in January. The EC2-26-BB6 is a twin-axle six berth, whith transverse triple bunks, corner washroom, side dinette and L-shaped kitchen. Although only a prototype, the side extending caravan drew crowds to the stand.
A fortnight later at the Scottish caravan show in Glasgow, the EC2-26-1B4 appeared too. Another 26ft twin-axle, this came with an island bed in the slide-out section, and the kitchen unit in a second slide-out. As well as two slide outs, the van also boasts unusual twin entrance doors.
The layout of the second van consists of a front large lounge, nearside kitchen section including oven and fridge while opposite the sink unit is placed. The end washroom is full width and has a fitted shower and cassette loo. Plus that second side door.
With a good reception to the first model, Glasgow two weeks later was the next show venue which featured the second twin axle to grace these shores. From the 14th February, they are in London.
Both models are based on BPW chassis with a Winterhoff hitch stabiliser fitted as standard. The IDC stability control system is optional. Two models are on display at Excel and both the EC2-26BB6 and EC-26-1B4 come a £24995 price tag; reasonable given the high standard specification.
This includes air conditioning, electric slide-out sides, electric powered awning, keyless entry and a well-integrated home entertainment system.
At Glasgow, the two prototypes had a few rough edges and a few design areas which needed to be looked at on standard production models but the Eterniti team have taken note. Despite this, you simply must go and see these trans-Atlantic tourers to get a feel for the generous interior space and unique layouts.
