Grantham’s Caravans has reported a return to the black for the year to the end of June 2025, reporting a pre-tax profit of £67,399.
This was in contrast with the pre-tax loss of £295,632 seen the previous year.
The Lincolnshire dealer said this return to profit had mainly been brought about by pivoting into more motorhome sales. But while both new and used tourer sales have slowed, it said it continues to maintain its position in the UK touring caravan sector.
Grantham’s stocks vans from some of the best makes of caravans, with tourers from Bailey, Coachman, Knaus, Swift and Weinsberg all on its forecourt.
This includes vans such as the Bailey Alicanto Grande Deluxe Sintra and the Coachman Laser 845 Xtra.
The company said it has improved its market position in both the new and pre-owned motorhomes, while there has also been growth in its parts and accessories sections, in part thanks to its e-commerce business.
Interest costs rose by £177,000 over the year, however, and the company said its ability to maintain a high level of customer service was put under pressure by higher than expected staff turnover and the subsequent time required to train up new members to the team.
In other recent news, an abandoned caravan cost its owner £1,300 after repeated requests to remove it were ignored. The incident occurred in Oxfordshire.
