The New Forest has been named Europe’s best National Park by Trip Advisor.

The title was given to the green space at the 2022 Traveller’s Choice Awards. Here, the New Forest finished first in the ‘Outdoor Enthusiasts’ category for Europe, seeing off competition from similar locations in the UK, such as Snowdonia – which placed second –  and Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park in Italy, to secure top spot.

Also making the top 10 National Parks across Europe were the Peak District and Dartmoor, which finished sixth and seventh respectively.

As well as being crowned number one for Europe, the New Forest was named the tenth best in the world, with Snowdonia hot on its heels in 11th place. In the process, both beat famous locations such as the Grand Canyon National Park and Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park in Brazil. You can find the full list here.

Found in Hampshire, the New Forest makes a great touring destination. The ancient woodland and open heaths create a beautiful setting to explore, with ponies, cattle and deer all wandering freely in the area.
