Followers of The Caravan Channel might be just wondering what has happened to the show recently, with no fresh episodes since Christmas, and now at last we can reveal some super news. The television show all about buying, owning and enjoying your caravan returns to our screens on 4 April 2016 with a brand new series – and with a brand new name, as The Caravan Channel becomes … Practical Caravan TV!
Over the past three months, the PCTV team has been touring the UK’s major shows, visiting some of the largest British dealers and dropping in on the manufacturers, reviewing dozens of new tourers and talking to the people who made them, ready for our new series. We’ll have something for all tastes and wallets, from the vast Adria Astella Amazon to the tiny Barefoot caravan, from the money-no-object Buccaneer Clipper to the bargain-basement Sprite Freedom FB, and everything in between!
Tow car editor David Motton is back, too, with his exhaustive tests of the best tow vehicles around. A few to look forward to include the hotly anticipated new Jaguar XE, the mighty Audi Q7 and a new Škoda that really lives up to its name. In addition, our roving reporter has been sampling some of the caravan parks featured in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2016, starting in the ever-popular south-west.
To begin the new series, however, we’re kicking off with a special episode reporting on some of the highlights from the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show at the NEC. In addition to reviews of the latest products, we spent part of the show chatting to manufacturers of some of the UK’s fascinating niche-market tourers. That special report will air for the first time on 4 April, and run for a full week. In a change from previous series of The Caravan Channel, however, there will be a brand-new show every week throughout the first series of Practical Caravan TV, so you won’t have to wait long for another bout of caravanning goodness!
You won’t want to miss it, so make sure you tune in to our new channel on Showcase on Sky 212 and on Freeview 254 (for the latter you’ll need a smart TV). Although we’ve a new home, our show times are unchanged, which means Monday at 8pm, Wednesday at 5pm, then 7pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday – and for those of you who enjoy motorcaravanning, too, if you stay tuned after the show you’ll be able to enjoy Practical Motorhome TV as well! We’ll also be airing on Freesat, and streaming live online, too, so for full details of these options, keep watching this space and checking our Facebook page – we will confirm details as soon as we have them.
It’s been a long time coming, but we can’t wait to see the results and hope you enjoy watching Practical Caravan TV as much as we enjoyed putting it together! And to get a small sneak preview, just click here!
