Caravanners in the Southeast will soon have a new way to boost their towing and manoeuvring skills, thanks to the Caravan and Motorhome Club’s latest training centre opening in Sandwich, Kent.

The new facility, run by Kent Training, joins the Club’s growing national network – now 18 centres strong – and will begin offering courses from 14 August 2025, starting with the popular Practical Caravan Course. Caravan towing courses offer a great way for leisure vehicle owners to gain confidence behind the wheel, whether they’re going to be towing a caravan for the first time or are refining years of experience.

The Club’s training courses cater to all levels and are suitable not only for caravan and motorhome users, but also for those towing boats, horseboxes or other trailers.

With over 40 years of training experience and more than 56,000 participants to date, the Club’s programmes consistently receive glowing reviews, with almost 80% of learners rating them 9 out of 10 or higher.

What the Courses Offer

Delivered by seasoned Club members who know the ins and outs of safe touring, each course provides hands-on experience and practical advice. Topics include:

Available Courses and Pricing

  • Practical Caravanning (1.5 days) – £218
  • Caravan Manoeuvring (1 day) – £188
  • Motorhome Manoeuvring (1 day) – £218

As an added bonus, anyone who completes a course will receive the Essential Guide to Touring (worth £16) for free. Caravan and Motorhome Club members can also take advantage of a 5% discount on caravan cover, motorhome insurance and car insurance.

Whether you’re new to leisure vehicles or simply want to brush up on your skills, the Club’s driver training offers peace of mind and a solid foundation for safe, enjoyable touring.

The other major club, the Camping and Caravanning Club, recently announced it would be “pausing” its attendance at the October NEC Show this year. The NEC Show organisers have responded to this decision, saying they “wish them every success with their anniversary celebrations”.
