Trewan Hall, a 36-acre campsite in St Columb Major, Cornwall, has gone on the market.

The site is a former finalist in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2023, with our readers naming it one of the best caravan sites in Cornwall. Trewan Hall has been owned by the same family since 1961, and is well placed for exploring Newquay, which is only nine miles away, while both the A30 and A39 are also in the vicinity.

The beaches of Mawgan Porth and Porthcothan are also only short drives away. St Columb Major itself, a pretty market town, is within walking distance too.

There is a range of amenities available onsite, including a heated outdoor swimming pool, EV chargers, a shop, a children’s playground, modern showers and toilets, and a laundry. There are also 150 pitches available with electric hook-up. It’s a dog-friendly caravan park too, with a woodland area for walking any canine companions.

As well as that, the campsite includes a Grade II listed Manor House with seven apartments, while additional buildings in the grounds are a four-bedroom detached farmhouse, a four-bedroom detached bungalow and two two-bedroom holiday cottages.

The sale is being overseen by Knight Frank, with offers in excess of £3.5m being sought. Matthew Smith, Partner, said: “Currently operating as a multi-faceted lifestyle business, Trewan Hall really is an exciting opportunity for a new owner to further utilise the 36 acres, and we are of the opinion the business will appeal to an array of buyer profiles to include first time entrants seeking a hospitality business in Cornwall, holiday park owners looking to further develop the site with additional accommodation, and exclusive-use owners seeking an elegant Grade II Manor House for weddings & events.”

“After 64 years in the same ownership, this is a superb opportunity for a buyer to capitalise on the increase in domestic and international visitors to Cornwall, with the future opportunity to potentially expand the accommodation and amenities on the site.”

Another campsite to make it into the news recently is Newborough Warren Caravan Park, after the onsite restaurant Y Marram earned a spot on The Good Food Guide’s list of the UK’s 100 Best Local Restaurants.

There has also been the chance to buy a campsite in Devon too, after the Dartmoor-based Langstone Manor went up for sale for £2.5 million.
