We reveal the categories we're judging at the Practical Caravan Awards 2026

The Practical Caravan Awards 2026, in association with The Insurance Emporium, are rapidly approaching, and we’re excited to be sharing the categories we will be judging this year.

Running from 1st to 7th December, the purpose of the Practical Caravan Awards is to help you choose a caravan that suits your requirements. To do this, our expert team judge the caravans that are on the market for the 2026 season, looking at the new releases on the market for the upcoming season.

To be eligible, a caravan either has to be new or updated for the 2026 touring season. After compiling an initial list of contenders, we go through and whittle down our shortlist to come up with our overall winner in each category.

We are covering a wide range of categories to help you find your dream caravan, whether that’s a two-berth, a six-berth, or one that is for a seasonal pitch.

Something no caravaner will want to overlook is a good car/caravan match, either. With that in mind, we also have three categories which will help you choose a tow car.

Best small tow car (under 1500kg)
Best car for towing 1500kg caravan
Best tow car for 2000kg caravan
