A tent from Eurohike with this kind of price tag will always suggest quality, but in some ways the Flash Fuse II is let down by poor design. A 2000mm-rated hydrostatic head flysheet and 5000mm-rated groundsheet are solid defences against moisture and zipped shoe compartments show ingenuity.
However, pegging down the tent presents problems. It is unclear where to place pegs on the flysheet, and with no help from the enclosed instructions we were left with an awkward looking pitch. It’s a shame, because the Flash Fuse II is a decent size inside and its double skin breathable polyester construction and taped seams represent a build quality that isn’t found on some of the other tents we tested. After quite a struggle we managed to get it back into its bag, which at just 5cm in width could easily be tucked away in the van.
