Last year’s regional (and our Top 100 overall winner) takes the category win again for 2018, testament to the park’s excellent facilities, location and operation.
It’s run by the Brigden family, who clearly take great care in offering every one of their guests a great experience, no matter how long they’re planning on staying at this lovely Dorset site.
The amenities here are excellent, with just about everything that you could want, including a trio of washrooms that are beautifully clean, free Wi-Fi, indoor washing-up areas, an information room with details of the local area, a herb garden for guests to use, a book-lending library, a well-stocked shop... the list goes on.
The site’s location is also brilliant for allowing you to explore this stunning region of Dorset, including the Jurassic Coast.
Bus stops at the park’s gates mean you can easily travel to the towns of Poole and Weymouth without needing to take your own vehicle, too.
In fact, it is our overall winner for 2018!
This site won our overall award last year, so it wasn’t a huge surprise to find a large number of you cast your vote for it this season, too – every time we’ve visited the site, we’ve been incredibly impressed by its tremendous facilities and the warmth of the welcome.
Your comments reflect this; it’s a worthy winner of our top gong once again.
It’s the sheer attention to detail at South Lytchett that promises to give you the very best stay.
For example, no matter what your choice of accommodation – bring your own tourer or tent, or stay in the glorious Bowtop caravan – you’ll be able to use the free onsite Wi-Fi.
The well-stocked (and licensed) shop can supply you with provisions or last-minute essentials, while the washrooms are beautifully clean – they even feature fresh flowers and music.
Some sites seem to forget the experience of younger guests, but children will find plenty to occupy them here.
A new adventure playground was built for 2017, and seasonal treasure hunts are organised for them to enjoy; there’s a games room, too.
Other facilities above and beyond those of many other sites include bicycle hire, an off-lead dog-walking area and a spotless family bathroom.
Dorset is hugely popular, and the site’s location allows you to explore the county with ease.
Poole is within easy reach – you can catch a bus by the main gates that will take you there, as well as to Swanage, Weymouth and Wareham.
Add in the fact that this is a really dog-friendly site and it’s easy to see why so many of you love this place. Congratulations once more to all at South Lytchett Manor.
“This was the first place my husband and I ever camped together. We’ve been back nine times now and it’s our go-to place every time we have a spare few days when we want to get away! Facilities are 10/10, the atmosphere is perfect, the location is perfect and the staff are lovely.”
“Dog-friendly with three walks, one of which is an enclosed field so dogs can run free. The local pub is also dog-friendly, with good food and service.”
“Service is exceptional and they can’t do enough to help. Everything is clean and the grass is immaculate. So handy for Poole, Sandbanks and Bournemouth.”
