CAMPSITES OPENED FOR just four months last year, but that shortest of seasons didn’t deter 70 new privately owned sites from joining the Caravan and and Motorhome Club‘s 2100-plus list of members-only Certificated Locations (CLs).

CLs can accommodate a maximum of five tourers and that restriction on numbers was, perhaps, the opportunity seized on by the Club’s new additions.

The adults-only Goodleigh Hill CL, in Worcestershire, won the Club’s 2020 Best Newcomer of the Year Award, while CL of the Year went to Woody Kiln Farm, in Pembrokeshire, South Wales.

C&MC sites were busy during the ‘open window’, so much so that a pop-up site opened for 50 days at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire, to help with capacity at the Bladon Chains campsite.

The Club has announced its overseas tours for 2021/22, including four trips in Europe, two US tours (including the Best of Alaska), three Australian tours, one each for New Zealand and Sri Lanka, and two covering southern Africa.

The Camping and Caravanning Club, meanwhile, has cancelled its escorted tours and rally programme for the foreseeable future, because of continuing uncertainty surrounding the pandemic.
