One of the many enjoyable things about caravanning is the chance to reach your campsite and relax. For some, this will be by embarking on walks, for others, it will be exploring the local area, while some of us love nothing more than a spot of angling. With that in mind, we’re sharing some of our favourite caravan sites with fishing, to help you find the right one to head to.

A site that was the overall winner in our Top 100 Sites Guide 2021, where we reveal the best caravan campsites to head to, is always going to provide excellent facilities.
This includes a clubhouse which serves daily meals (complete with a pet lounge), a warm-water dog-shower, a luxury amenities block and excellent views.
It’s the nine coarse fishing lakes that will appeal to anglers though. These are made up of two specimen carp lakes, six mixed coarse fishing lakes, and a private lake that is only for lodge residents to use.
Day tickets can be purchased, while tuition is also available.

Garnffrwd Park

Found in West Wales, this CL only has five pitches, but if you’re looking for a caravan site for fishing, it will be a very worthy option.
The five-acre landscaped lake was purpose built in 1983, especially for trout fishing. Nowadays, the lake hosts rainbow and blue trout, along with brown and tiger trout.
You can buy a day ticket if you fancy giving it a go, and can also head to the cafe that overlooks the fishing lake for some refreshment during the day.

Horam Manor Country Park

Horam Manor is a picturesque site, found on the edge of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
As well as providing visitors with first class facilities, the caravan park has a well stocked fishing lake at the Horam Manor Fishery. This gives anglers the chance to fish for a range of fish, including bream, carp, crucian carp, tench, rudd, perch, roach, golden rudd and eels.

Woodland Waters Holiday Park

Found in a woodland valley, this caravan site is ideal for fishing, with five fishing lakes on offer. These include the 14 acre specimen lake, where you can fish for a wide range of species including bream, perch, rudd and pike, with the latter reaching up to 27 1/2 lbs.
Other spots include the seven acre match lake, where tench of up to 11 1/2lbs can be found, as well as bream, rudd, roach, perch and carp, all to 10 lbs.
You have the option of either day or evening tickets, while you can try night fishing on the specimen lake too.

Springwater Lakes

Another location in Wales makes it onto our caravan sites for fishing round-up, with this one found in the south-west.
It’s well located for exploring the Brecon Beacons, while anglers will be pleased to hear site provides five fishing lakes, providing fly, coarse and specimen fishing.
The fly lake is stocked with rainbow trout, while there are two coarse lakes that provide crucian, mirror and common carp, as well as large tench, bream, roach, rudd and perch.

Lucksall Caravan and Camping

It won’t come as a surprise that a caravan site that is located on the banks of the River Wye is an excellent spot for fishing.
A number of species reside in the Wye, including barbel, pike, carp, chub, trout, perch, roach, dace and salmon. The Riverside Bar and Eatery can be found nearby too, giving you the perfect place to head to for a bite to eat before returning to your pastime.

Riverside Caravan Park

Free fishing on the River Teviot is on offer at Riverside Caravan Park, where you can find salmon, trout and grayling.
The site itself, which is based on the Scottish Borders, offers excellent views, while you’ll find yourself ideally situated for heading to a good selection of pubs and restaurants in Hawick, which is only a mile away.

Milton of Fonab Caravan Park

- Touring pitches: 170

This caravan park provides excellent access to the River Tummel, which is a tributary of the River Tay. Fishing is especially good from mid March to June, and offers you an excellent change to encounter some salmon. Late summer will present an opportunity to catch brown trout.
The site itself has 170 pitches, all of which have electric hook up, while you can also make use of shower and washroom facilities.
