The 2013 Sport was seen as a mid-priced line-up, to run alongside Swift’s Challenger Sports. The Sterlings offered their own Continental styling for those who wanted the latest in modern interior design.

When Swift acquired Sprite Leisure in 1994, a new name was launched for the latter’s hugely popular Eccles and Europa makes of caravans: Sterling. The aim was to distinguish these models from other ranges manufactured by Swift.

Fast forward some years and the Sterling name was dropped, but these tourers were much loved by caravanners and the used caravans market remains steady.

As well as those good looks, the range also offered buyers an excellent level of spec.

Model history

The Sports were launched for the 2013 season as a lightweight range of modern tourers with layouts to suit most buyers. They were updated for 2014, but lost the Sport name for the 2016 model year. The SR 564 was only produced for one season, although it continued in SE spec for 2014.

There are still good examples to be found on the forecourts, and this one was in superb condition. The spec included alloy wheels, ATC, dual-fuel hob and oven, Truma blown-air heating, fridge, Status TV aerial and radio/CD player.

The Sport range numbered no fewer than 10 caravan layouts, which meant that buyers had plenty of choice, from a two-berth to a full six-berth family model.

The 564 provided a floorplan that had become popular with couples over the years and still is in 2024. This offers a front lounge, with offside kitchen and wardrobe opposite.

Twin fixed single beds and a rear washroom completed the layout, and this four-berth soon became popular with couples.

The Sport models produced for the 2013 season retained the high-quality wood finish furniture, but incorporated the latest trends in interior décor.

If you find the 2013 Sport not quite trendy enough, look for a 2014-onwards model, with its smart white furniture finish.
