IF HAVING A BEACH close by is an important element of your holiday then you will be interested in a new website – www.findmybeach.com.

It lists 198 beaches around Europe that have been hand-picked by its researchers – the site only lists recommended beaches. There are 20 in the UK and 35 in France. Each beach is beautifully illustrated and has a section on why you should go, information about the beach and the water, and what is close by. You can also search for a beach by type: whether it is good for families, good for watersports, is a beauty spot, is near a city or is by a lake.

Trip ideas and useful links

Each beach has a section on how to get there and where to eat, plus links on where to stay. There is currently no advice on which caravan sites are nearby, however. There are also trip ideas with useful links to tourist information sites. Users of the site are also invited to write their own comments about the beaches listed.

Findmybeach.com will be a useful tool for families looking for safe bathing for little ones or some watersport action for the bigger kids. For caravanners it would be more useful still if it listed nearby caravan sites.
